Of mortality's pain

Feeling of termination
Crawling across corridors of silence
Setting
the Path on fire,
Spirit of peace
Must be invoked
Misconceptions
And the fear of departure
Blow away the chance
To embrace the light
Confused and unprepared
The consciousnesses leave the corpse
Earth of sacred rivers
Observed by bewildered eyes
Guided by the litany
The Self begins to travel,
Led towards the passages
Where spirits are reborn as Gods
Words echo in death's realm
The spirit shall not turn back
Ignorance calls the preys
Away from Liberation...

Sudden
Resurgence,
Dying backwards,
Sinking inwards

Impalpable,
Nomad
Of the Pillars of Creation
Eyes of silver
That swallow the light...
"Manifold oneness,
Answer my call!"
Teardrops of arrogance
For grace to be bestowed
"To reach Thy powers
To seize Thy nature
To browse through the Golden Pages
To forget my death... my humble praises
To the Beholder I'm crying out
My flesh is my offer, blood of the devout
Be my call heard!"
Disease of grandeur
Hangs over the Promethean
The self-magnifying
Tries to crawl towards the unapproachable
On a quest for power
Boundaries are unknowable
But all at once the request is heard,
Beholder's quiet is distraught
Now see it elevate from its watchtower,
Furiously churning with its thought
The arrogant misunderstands
The rising of the entity,
He smiles as he waits for splendour to be granted
From an indulgent being...
Powers are invoked from afar
For the retribution
And so the Promethean is pulverized into the abyss...
The order is silently restored.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.
